In the area of Bonny Doon in 2020 a fire called the CZU lightning complex razed through, incinerating nearly 1,000 structures and 90,000 acres. It was devastating for the community to say the least. Several years later, the blackened and burnt redwood trees are reviving. New growth buds on every limb, fuzzy as a wool sweater. This illustration is a dedication to new beginnings even in the face of disaster.
